Cruiser Tank Mk IV

< Main Page

< WWII Weapons Library

The idea of the Cruiser Tank was to have a lighter, faster tank fighting alongside Britain’s heavier, slower, but more powerful tanks. This strategy didn’t last long however as the results were pretty mixed, sometimes it worked and other times it didn’t. The Cruiser MK IV was eventually obsolete when more favorable designs came along. This Tank also had potential to be better than it really was as the development of this tank was severely rushed so this tank’s success was extremely limited. These rushed tanks were often outnumbered and out competed their German counterparts.
