Perhaps one of the most well know airplane from the RAF (Royal Air Force) was the Hawker Hurricane. The spotlight was on the Hawker Hurricane during the Battle of Britain. When Germany was invading via repeated air strikes, Britain called, and the Hawker Hurricane answered. The Hawker Hurricane outnumbered the Germans and pushed them off Britain and eventually back to Germany. It deserves that description for a reason too, this plane is known for destroying more enemy aircraft than any other British Weapon. On top of that, this plane is also known for being the first British plane to have retractable landing gear and a monoplane wing design.
